WORK
EXPERIENCE
Studio Work
April 2007-August 2008 Graphic/Document Designer Goleta, California

Used Photoshop, Illustrator, Powerpoint, Flash, and Word in order
to create Press/Media kits and newsletters for the company and individual
clients. I also designed logos and other graphics for MPOGD and Levelup
as well as clients referred to me through that company. I had to keep
in mind the vision of the company in terms of marketing to a specific
group or an overall group while designing the graphic and/or overall
look of the document. I would often have to schedule myself in terms
of strict deadlines and restrictions to even last-minute campaigns
for both web and print.

General Experience
January 2004-February 2009 |
District Office Coordinator |
Goleta, California |
Staples, Inc.
I interacted with varying levels of both associate to Divisional level as a liaison in order to coordinate meetings, arrange accommodations for large groups of people, budget proposals, phone conferences, and submit miscellaneous reports and communications via email to MAP communications through the Staples proprietary web applications. This was for stores, corporate, and even customers. I used Word and Excel in order to make presentable documents in a relatively short span of time.
It got me more familiar with Staples’ infrastructure overall.
I had to transmit information out clearly and concisely to the District and even to the region in terms of reports or corporate policies. In times of computer issues with stores, I had to find the best way for them to fix their issues by either submitting e-tickets to making calls along the right avenues. I often had to fall back on the non-email forms of communication, because I could not simply use them at the time. For floor sales, I had to be coached by my supervisors as well as store managers in order to be able to approach a customer, as well as learning and keeping up to date on the current sales techniques. I also had to use a lot of self-discipline and I had to be open to constructive criticism to improve my sales techniques.
EDUCATION
2004-2007 Digital Entertainment and Game Design
ITT Technical Institute-Oxnard
-Graduated valedictorian - GPA 3.75
- Bachelor of Science
- This program was to give us a general overview of game development;
from programming, art assets, to actual production and hiring. It
was tailored to each individual student’s needs. I went the
way of art assets/production and I was taught how to make a portfolio.
I was taught to use 3DsMax and Adobe After Effects as well as honing
Photoshop and Illustrator skills with refinement to design.
1994-2003
Art Studio and Film Studies
University of California, Santa Barbara
- Bachelor of Arts in each major.
- Art Studio was a mixed disciplinary program in which I was taught
classical art on one spectrum (drawing live models, still lives, and
environments), but I was also taught multimedia of Photoshop, Illustrator,
Flash, Director, and other forms of multimedia applications that were
just coming out at about that time for both web and general graphic
design/illustration.
- In Film Studies, I examined the concept and composition of films
of different genres and studied varying auteurs in order to see how
the mind translates onto the screen and the production values and
processes that go along with it. I also delved into film theory and
philosophy to see what motivated certain creative attributes to making
films that were acclaimed as well as successful.
-In both majors I was taught design elements and composition.
HOBBIES
I like playing video games (mostly RPGs, puzzle games, and MMORPGs), comics, cooking,
drawing, writing, reading, accessing a wide array of art and music,
snapping strange photos, researching weaponry and martial arts, action
movies and other genres of movies with odd stories, going to ranges, and traveling. However, I'm game for just about anything and am willing to give things at least one try.
